Who likes cables? Sure, we can dream about the good stuff with gold plated connectors or thick gauge but in the end the cable is just a cable. And they tend to coil up, collect in big dusty messes behind and around our beloved media centers. The other drawback is cost. If you are mounting a projector in the ceiling you can easily end up stringing 10 meters or 30 feet of cables from your source. The cost of all that cable adds up. So why are we still using them when we don't need to? Wireless HDMI transmitters and receivers can now make lots of these cables obsolete. Of course you still need some cables to connect your media source with the transmitter and the receiver with your projector, TV or audio system but these can be the shortest cables possible.
